Gods Promises

Recently I have been reading 4+ devotionals in the morning because I could definitely use the extra encouragement; and then I finally stumbled upon one that really hit the spot.

57. I’ll always bring you through impossible situations. Psalm 34:18-19
58. Forgiveness of your sins is immediate if you believe in Jesus. Acts 10:43
59. Imagine! I WANT to give you your biggest dreams when you’re trusting in Me. Psalm 37:4-5
60. Because you believed in Jesus, your account with Me is settled. Go in peace! Romans 5:1
Which promise stands out to YOU today? Is there a promise you want more faith to believe? Stop and talk to God now. Memorize ALL the promises. MemLok.com

How encouraging is it, to read these words and know that He has promised these things to those who love Him and obey Him? I know that everyday I fall short, but He also says we are immediately forgiven If we believe in Him. I don’t know what could possibly be more comforting than that.

Don’t Fear

This morning as I was reading my devotionals, I came across this one. This one really hits home with me because it’s something that I have struggled with since I was probably in middle school. I had noticed that my fear and panic had heightened when I found out that my husband got a job at peoples gas in Pittsburgh, which is about two hours from home. Although that might not seem like a huge transition, it terrified me. I thought that I always wanted to live in the city, but I realized wait- where will the comfortability be? Where will the familiarity be?

I have to admit that my panic and anxiety have been through the roof the past three or four months. I thought that once I moved up here and got settled in that it would subside, and each day it is. It’s a very very hard thing to go through a transition such as moving. However, I would have it no other way than to be with my husband, it has been a huge adjustment. So reading this devotional this morning was a reminder to hold on and to savor the joyful moments. Not to fear the future, for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. These are things I have to constantly remind myself every day.

Sometimes I wonder how I got here? How did the anxiety becomes so overwhelming? And why wasn’t I able to stop it before it got out of control, but I have to remember that this is a short season and that God did not promise a life without hardship but he does promise to glorify our situations and He promises never to leave us. I hope that this devotional can help you as it helped me.

Fear Of The Unknown
Fear of the unknown is common. What makes the unknown so scary is that, well, it’s unknown. We don’t know what’s going to happen.
But here’s the thing, you don’t have to know the unknown to be safe.
The unknown can actually be an awesome adventure, and trying something new can change your life for the better.
So what’s something you’re not sure about that worries you?
Remember the Scripture you just read, and don’t worry about tomorrow. Don’t worry about the future. Don’t worry about the unknown. God will take care if it. God will take care of you!
When we fear the unknown, it’s actually a lack of trust that God is in control.
So don’t worry about tomorrow. Trust God. He’s in control of the unknown.

To anybody that is struggling with, depression and fear or anxiety I highly recommend this app! It’s called Happify and it’s completely free!! There are a bunch of psychologists, psychiatrists and scientists who came together to create activities and games to help guide our minds elsewhere! It definitely has been very helpful to me and it also helps you to put things into perspective and rationalize.

 Fall fashion

This weekend, my sweet husband and I had the privilege of attending one of my dearest childhood friends wedding.

Fall absolutely calls for the best fashion! I love that this season makes it acceptable to throw a bunch of layers together, there really are no rules for fall !
I also ended up chopping off of some of my hair ! I had to get all of the rest of the blonde out, the dead ends were just unmanageable! It was hard to part with, but I think I like this length a lot! My hair grows pretty fast, so I’m excited to start fresh!

How to tame those natural curls

curly hair

Recently, many people have asked me what I do to tame my natural curls. In the past, I rarely ever wore my hair curly because I always felt that it was so big and by the end of the day it was just unmanageable. Until recently, I came across an AMAZING product that I use religiously.

YES

Garnier Fructis triple Nutrition oil, and it really isn’t lying when it says ” miracle dry oil” . If I’m being completely honest… I need about two inches off of the bottom of my hair, but when I apply this oil you can’t even tell. In the past, I would put the crappiest products in my hair to try and tame it. Such as – gel, mousse, and hairspray. If anything those are the WORST products that you could use and at the end of the day they just dry and damage your hair more by causing more breakage and split ends.  With this miracle product, I hardly have to apply anything else!

I wash my hair, and put it in a towel for about 5 minutes so that it’s not soaking wet, and then i comb it through with a wide tooth comb, section it off from the top of my ears and apply a palm full of leave- in conditioner throughout and then apply the oil. However, I spray the oil into my hands first, and then apply starting at the roots. You have to be careful with this product if you don’t have a lot of frizz and especially around the roots of your hair because a little bit of this goes a long way, but if you’re scrunching it, then it’s easier to get away with because it just looks like luscious locks.

My hair is extremely thick and coarse so it is perfect for me because I need all the moisture/ shininess that I can get. If you’re just curling or straightening your hair, I would only recommend spraying twice into the palm of your hands and  running it through the hair starting from your ear and working your way down. If you have natural curls this is truly a life saver. I put an unforgivable amount of heat on my hair every week and was so insecure about my frizzy nest in the past, but now I hardly ever use heat because I love how much healthier my hair looks, and I can also tell that using less heat has allowed my hair to grow quicker! So what are you waiting for ? If you have any further questions about the products that I use on my hair, feel free to email me or comment below!

This holiday calls for new makeup! Loved playing around with my new pallets and can’t wait to share what I used to achieve this!

For the concealer I used the temptu palette -amazing for dark circles and blemishes
Foundation – Jane Iredale bb cream #3 I find this to be the absolutely best for coverage , and it always leaves my skin with a glow, not only those things but it is actually good for your skin! Jane Iredale is all mineral makeup , which I love because I don’t feel guilty falling asleep in it .

Cheeks – I used Victoria’s Secret bronzer to contour my cheek bones

For the eyes I used my new NAKED palette which I’m absolutely obsessed with. The colors apply beautifully and always add such a glimmer . I’ve never found anything to be as amazing as these palettes. They are long lasting also even without primer !

I used the NYC liquid liner for my cat eye and Mary Kay long lash mascara .

Hope you all enjoyed the look of the day! Email me for questions or if you are interested In getting your hair or makeup done for an event ! Taylor and I would be more than happy to assist you !

WHOM SHALL I FEAR?

REFLECTION

In the midst of the fray and fury, keep your eyes on Jesus. He is fighting for you. Emmanuel is near. Though accusations fly and the enemy assaults your thoughts, though people try to cut you down and drag your name through the mud, though schemes are launched and temptations roar, though your flesh fails and screams for revenge—your hope is in the One who fights for you. You are safe in God’s love and in the power of His mighty name.

MEDITATION

Fear Not to Trust Me in the Storm

Fear not to trust Me in the storm,
I’m always very near.
I come thy needless fears to calm,
Then, weary ones, don’t fear.

Refrain

Fear not, I am with thee,
Fear not, I am with thee,
Fear not, I am with thee,
Am with thee all the way.

I may not always seem so near
As thou wouldst have Me be;
But in the calm and in the storm,
I all thy dangers see.

Refrain

Fear not to trust My mighty arm;
It bro’t salvation down.
I suffered much to give thee life,
To give to thee a crown.

Refrain

J.W. Howe, Stanzas 1–3

PRAYER

Father, in the middle of the storm I am setting my hope on You. You fight for me and You are greater than all my enemies. Nothing I face today is more powerful than You. You are the solid ground beneath my feet. Thank You for surrounding those who surround me. Give me peace in the presence of my enemies, knowing that You see me and defend me in Your love. Amen.
