Fall Days Strolling Through The City

So I am really looking forward to this week because my sister decided to come and stay with me. During the day while Caleb is at work, it has been really lonely, so I am excited to have someone to do things with. We decided since it was such a beautiful day that we would take a stroll through the city. I love checking out all the local shops ! We first stopped at a local pizzeria to get some pepperoni wraps, and Taylor got buffalo chicken rolls. They were AWESOME! We then decided to drop by for some coffee. My addiction varies between iced green tea lattes made with matcha or an iced caramel macchiato.

What I love about this city is that everything is pretty much within walking distance, and I love how many bike trails there are. There are almost just as many people riding their bikes from place to place as there are people driving! Okay… maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s still impressive. In Wv,, we really have it made when it comes to the convenience of getting in and out of the stores/ restaurants we love the most. In Pittsburgh, however, parking is nearly impossible and it probably is in your best interest to either walk, or ride a bike; but I can’t complain much because it encourages and promotes living a healthier lifestyle. So it is kind of a win win. All in all, it was a beautiful , eventful day.

 Fall fashion

This weekend, my sweet husband and I had the privilege of attending one of my dearest childhood friends wedding.

Fall absolutely calls for the best fashion! I love that this season makes it acceptable to throw a bunch of layers together, there really are no rules for fall !
I also ended up chopping off of some of my hair ! I had to get all of the rest of the blonde out, the dead ends were just unmanageable! It was hard to part with, but I think I like this length a lot! My hair grows pretty fast, so I’m excited to start fresh!

Bye Bye Dry Skin!

vichy

Okay so, I know it has been SO long since I’ve posted anything BUT I just had to write a review on this product!

I have been struggling with dry skin all of my life, and in only a matter of TWO days my dry skin has been non-existent ! I used to always have to exfoliate and then moisturize before every foundation application and at night, or I would just be so flaky! Not only has this amazing product kept me looking hydrated and healthy but it has also given my makeup a flawless finish/ “dewy look” if you will. (which I LOVE). A lot of people say the dewy look makes it just look like oily skin, but I beg to differ. If anything it gives girls a beautiful glow while also allowing them to look hydrated and refreshed!

I signed up to start receiving an ipsy bag which I believe is only $10 a month. You fill out a profile and your interests and skin type, and they send you generous samples of different brand products. I have a very nice collection of high end products and HAIR products as well. It is truly a great investment, and I didn’t have to pay a fortune paying for full sized products just to find this great cream! The sample sizes, I believe are very generous. I have made each product sent last for a few months! Definitely give this brand a look! I believe the average sized cream runs between $23-25 depending on which site you purchase it.

I’m telling you ladies, this cream is a miracle! Before, I would use a moisturizer and by the end of my work shift, my skin had already flaked up! With this moisturizer , I truly don’t even think I would have to apply it everyday if I didn’t wash my face at night! It’s wonderful! Hope this helped you all! How to tame those natural curls

curly hair

Recently, many people have asked me what I do to tame my natural curls. In the past, I rarely ever wore my hair curly because I always felt that it was so big and by the end of the day it was just unmanageable. Until recently, I came across an AMAZING product that I use religiously.

YES

Garnier Fructis triple Nutrition oil, and it really isn’t lying when it says ” miracle dry oil” . If I’m being completely honest… I need about two inches off of the bottom of my hair, but when I apply this oil you can’t even tell. In the past, I would put the crappiest products in my hair to try and tame it. Such as – gel, mousse, and hairspray. If anything those are the WORST products that you could use and at the end of the day they just dry and damage your hair more by causing more breakage and split ends.  With this miracle product, I hardly have to apply anything else!

I wash my hair, and put it in a towel for about 5 minutes so that it’s not soaking wet, and then i comb it through with a wide tooth comb, section it off from the top of my ears and apply a palm full of leave- in conditioner throughout and then apply the oil. However, I spray the oil into my hands first, and then apply starting at the roots. You have to be careful with this product if you don’t have a lot of frizz and especially around the roots of your hair because a little bit of this goes a long way, but if you’re scrunching it, then it’s easier to get away with because it just looks like luscious locks.

My hair is extremely thick and coarse so it is perfect for me because I need all the moisture/ shininess that I can get. If you’re just curling or straightening your hair, I would only recommend spraying twice into the palm of your hands and  running it through the hair starting from your ear and working your way down. If you have natural curls this is truly a life saver. I put an unforgivable amount of heat on my hair every week and was so insecure about my frizzy nest in the past, but now I hardly ever use heat because I love how much healthier my hair looks, and I can also tell that using less heat has allowed my hair to grow quicker! So what are you waiting for ? If you have any further questions about the products that I use on my hair, feel free to email me or comment below!

Before and After – bridal makeup practice!

wordpress

Recently, I have had the pleasure of partnering with the lovely Alison Clem. She is the owner of the Riversong spa, and I am officially working with her! We are promoting mineral makeup such as Jane Iredale, and for  limited time, Glo Minerals. We are also promoting an organic skincare line called, Eminence . The first time I tried it , I was instantly hooked. We together, will be doing anything from spa treatments such as – facials and body wraps, to eyelash extensions.

However, the most exciting of all is – BRIDAL makeup! Pictured above is my cousin Genna, and she was kind enough to be the model for my trial run through learning how to airbrush! I will never go back! The finish was flawless . Amazing coverage but lightweight at the same time.. how can you beat that? This is not your typical bridal look but, Genna wanted deep colors for a more ‘ edgy ‘ look. She was in love, and that;s what is most important! Today’s look!

20131219-212027.jpg

Today I decided that natural was the best route to take! I let my natural hair go and went for the natural make up look! It’s much easier, that’s for sure. Every once in awhile us girls need a break from getting fancied up all the time !

To achieve my curls I simply wash my hair, then leave it in a towel for about 5 minutes. When I take it out of the towel I do not brush it. I simply part it in the direction I want it to lay and apply my product. I’ve come to find that my hair looks super frizzy if I brush it out and then apply product. I use a sleek and shine conditioner from Walmart that I believe is only like $1.25 , and some argon oil . I put a generous amount of conditioner on my hair but I don’t run it through the strands I simply just apply to the ends and roots and then lather it on by scrunching .

As far as my make up, I simply touched up my brows , and applied a tad of concealer and moisturizer . Sometimes I find I feel more confident when I embrace my natural look. I don’t feel that it takes much effort therefore I don’t feel like I’m worrying about anyone’s opinion other than my own, and sometimes that’s relieving 🙂 hope you all have had a blessed day!
