He Cleanses

Last night, on our way back home from West Virginia, Caleb decided to stop at the store for a few last minute things. I had discussed with him on the way home that I was continuing to have a hard time with my anxiety and I just didn’t know how I was going to shake it, that I wanted to seek out more help because I cannot continue to live this way.

When we arrived home, to my surprise, he pulled out two books. He said that he had prayed and really felt the spirit moving him to grab a particular two. I immediately went to get my reading glasses, made some hot chocolate and curled up into bed to start getting some answers. The entire time that I’ve gone through this I had never looked at it in the way that the book explained. –

Spend a moment in solemn reflection. What is the ” dross ” in your life that needs to be purged? It may be arrogance, pride, love of praise, love attention, self-will, stubbornness, an unteachable spirit, peevishness, immaturity, jealousy, anger, impatience, love of money, selfishness, or an unforgiving spirit. All such “dross” grieves the Holy Spirit who dwells within us and so we must be “refined” and “purged”. This means that we must “pass through the fire “, but there is some comfort for you here.

The book also explained how God does not put us through these things to consume us but to bring out the beauty in us. When we commit our life to Christ, the Holy Spirit lives within us, but, when we are filled with dross, He cannot truly live there , so what does He do? He cleanses .  These three facts brought me so much comfort, and I hope that they will to you as well if you are now facing your fiery trial.

*First, he is never harmed by the fire can you tell me that you were ever harmed by gods fastening? Oh, this doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt, but always the hurt is for our good.

* Second, the fire sets free from the shackles of carnality that hindered. The most radiant Christians are the ones who have suffered the most.

* Third, God’s presence is very real and precious in the fire.

These three things helped me so much and reassured me that He is not consuming me but the “dross ” out of my life so that I may be purified and cleansed. What an amazing realization. I also began journaling, as the book you see, Fervent, is a battle plan for strategic prayer. I highly recommend this and will definitely blog about how it has helped me and what it has put into perspective. I’m already learning so much and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Biddles Escape

To start our morning off today, Taylor and I decided we needed a coffee fix, so we headed on down to our favorite local spot. The menu there is overwhelming because there are just so many awesome options to choose from. Not only are the drinks delightful but the atmosphere is incredible. When I walk in, I feel a sense of comfort and peace; super eclectic if you will. Taylor and I decided to skip out on coffee and go for a matcha (green tea) latte, which may I add was PHENOMENAL. I love matcha for it’s amazing health benefits. You should definitely look them up sometime.

As Taylor and I received our drinks , we decided to take them outside to the coffee shops deck. It was a beautiful overcast day. I know that may sound strange to some of you, but a lot of the time , these are the days that make me the happiest. I decided to dress casual and comfy. I wore a pair of worn out jeans, a Ramones tee with a black cropped jacket , a burgundy  scarf ( in which I made myself) and combat boots to throw it all together. I had a lot of girls asking me today what curling iron I used on my hair to achieve the look that I did. I used a 1 1/2 ceramic curling iron by Revlon.

The only products I use are TREsemme Thermal Creations as a heat protectant and garnier fructis marvelous oil. WHICH may I add is the ONLY oil that I have ever found to fully saturate and maintain / manage my frizz all day! I am very impressed with that product. My hair is fortunately naturally curly, so I don’t really have to worry about hairspray and IF I ever use anything I only use One N’ Only Argan Oil Volume hair spray- which is mainly a spray to help maintain frizz and protect your hair from the humidity. I am TOTALLY against hairspray otherwise. I don’t think people realize how damaging it is to their hair. All in all , it was another lovely day spent with my darling sister.

Ending your day right By Joyce Meyer

I don’t know about you but I LOVE me some devotionals! I try to read them as much as possible throughout the day. They help me to stay focused on what is TRULY important. If I start to get sidetracked , all I do is pull out my phone and bam, scripture on a screen! It really is awesome. Before I sign out tonight I wanted to share with you my devo before bed! It is from Joyce Meyer and its an app called : ending your day right. Definitely recommended!

*Be Happy*

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied, ) is he who has forgiveness of his transgression continually exercised upon him, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity and in whose spirit there is no deceit. Psalm 32:1-2

God created you to live the abundant life He died to provide you– and knowing  your sins are completely forgiven should be enough to keep you happy.

But many Christians operate in the works of the flesh trying to serve God. They spend so much time trying to be good they miss the blessing if simple prayer and fellowship with God.

God is not seeking your “works”. He want YOU! You must remind yourself  that you have been made righteous through that death and resurrection off Jesus… and you can add nothing to that.

As a Christian, you are no longer your own– you were purchased by the blood of Jesus. He paid the ultimate price for your happiness, so enjoy it.

on that note, goodnight beautiful!
