Home For The Holidays

Well, it’s safe to say this holiday was a great one, but as always, it has flown by !
I was fortunate enough to be able to spend most of last week with my family and friends. I always love being able to go home. As you all know I am very much a homebody! Christmas Eve we went to my grandmas and had dinner with the family and then carried on the tradition of watching National Lampoon Christmas vacation in the evening and then 24 hours of a Christmas Story . Before my sweet husband , my sister and I would cuddle up in my bed and watch the marathon all night until Christmas morning . It was so exciting , but being able to anticipate it with my husband is just as beautiful and wonderful. This was the first year I could hardly sleep because I was TOO excited to give everyone else their gifts . It felt great that Caleb and I were able to bless others this year. The gift of giving truly is a lot more enjoyable than receiving .

I mean, look at this moment . Priceless . My dad surprised Caleb and gave him his first ever muzzleloader . Caleb was definitely caught off guard but thrilled to be receiving something so sentimental. You can just feel the emotion through the picture .

After enjoying the morning with my dad and his family , I got ready and went to my aunts briefly to exchange gifts , where I got to visit my little love .

That night , we went to spend the night with Calebs parents where we exchanged gifts there as well.

I think we had some pretty great facial expressions. What do you guys think?
All in all , it was a very eventful, exhausting , blessed and exciting Christmas Holiday!  If you were wondering about my attire on Christmas Eve , here are a few of the details .

Shirt – buckle ( it was a gift) I usually wouldn’t even look at this store , as I personally think it’s overrated and overpriced .

Skirt/ Charlotte Russe

Nude heels- Forever21 ( they always have great deals on shoes )
What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions/ favorite moment this season ?
Merry Christmas! Xoxo

Biddles Escape

To start our morning off today, Taylor and I decided we needed a coffee fix, so we headed on down to our favorite local spot. The menu there is overwhelming because there are just so many awesome options to choose from. Not only are the drinks delightful but the atmosphere is incredible. When I walk in, I feel a sense of comfort and peace; super eclectic if you will. Taylor and I decided to skip out on coffee and go for a matcha (green tea) latte, which may I add was PHENOMENAL. I love matcha for it’s amazing health benefits. You should definitely look them up sometime.

As Taylor and I received our drinks , we decided to take them outside to the coffee shops deck. It was a beautiful overcast day. I know that may sound strange to some of you, but a lot of the time , these are the days that make me the happiest. I decided to dress casual and comfy. I wore a pair of worn out jeans, a Ramones tee with a black cropped jacket , a burgundy  scarf ( in which I made myself) and combat boots to throw it all together. I had a lot of girls asking me today what curling iron I used on my hair to achieve the look that I did. I used a 1 1/2 ceramic curling iron by Revlon.

The only products I use are TREsemme Thermal Creations as a heat protectant and garnier fructis marvelous oil. WHICH may I add is the ONLY oil that I have ever found to fully saturate and maintain / manage my frizz all day! I am very impressed with that product. My hair is fortunately naturally curly, so I don’t really have to worry about hairspray and IF I ever use anything I only use One N’ Only Argan Oil Volume hair spray- which is mainly a spray to help maintain frizz and protect your hair from the humidity. I am TOTALLY against hairspray otherwise. I don’t think people realize how damaging it is to their hair. All in all , it was another lovely day spent with my darling sister.

Fall Days Strolling Through The City

So I am really looking forward to this week because my sister decided to come and stay with me. During the day while Caleb is at work, it has been really lonely, so I am excited to have someone to do things with. We decided since it was such a beautiful day that we would take a stroll through the city. I love checking out all the local shops ! We first stopped at a local pizzeria to get some pepperoni wraps, and Taylor got buffalo chicken rolls. They were AWESOME! We then decided to drop by for some coffee. My addiction varies between iced green tea lattes made with matcha or an iced caramel macchiato.

What I love about this city is that everything is pretty much within walking distance, and I love how many bike trails there are. There are almost just as many people riding their bikes from place to place as there are people driving! Okay… maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s still impressive. In Wv,, we really have it made when it comes to the convenience of getting in and out of the stores/ restaurants we love the most. In Pittsburgh, however, parking is nearly impossible and it probably is in your best interest to either walk, or ride a bike; but I can’t complain much because it encourages and promotes living a healthier lifestyle. So it is kind of a win win. All in all, it was a beautiful , eventful day.

Tea Time !

Yesterday, I attended my very first tea party. First, I was a little nervous because I had no idea what people wear to such things! But I thought a little chiffon and lace would never hurt. It was very hot yesterday so that’s all that was perfect , light and very breezy. My outfit is from Charlotte Russe and I believe I bought it about a year back . The shoes I borrowed from my mother-in-law and we got the garden hat from a yard sale for I believe two dollars! I love yard sales. But AnyWho, I did pretty simple, light make up. I used some light browns , Skipped the eyeliner (which I never tend to wear anymore) Applied my falsies, and made sure that my contouring was bold. I think that falsies and nice contouring really does make or break your makeup, or at least, it is what stands out the most. I decided to embrace my natural curls and go for a very nude lipstick. I had a lot of fun with this look. Super easy, lightweight and comfortable! The tea party was an absolute success!
When I arrived, I had my own little place setting with my own name card!

Not to mention, the food was outstanding!

I’m very happy and blessed that I got to spend the day with some of God’s girls whom I love dearly!

Today’s look!

This beautiful sunshine inspired me to wear this floral / flowy dress today. The dress by itself is perfect for spring, but I added this little fringe over throw not only for warmth but to give it more of a bohemian feel. The dress I just purchased from Gabes about a week ago and I do believe it wasn’t much more than $10! I’ve had the over throw for a bit longer however, and it was actually from the shopping part of Cracker Barrel. It was $20! The shoes I purchased from Charlotte Russe for $5 . As far as my hair , my dear mother threw in a couple of braids for me ( in which I may add that I’ve been a little obsessed with lately). A very simple look , but very colorful , fun and most importantly, COMFORTABLE . Hope you like it ! 🙂

It’s beginning to feel a lot like SPRING!

Taylor and I definitely don’t like to pass up capturing this gorgeous weather while incorporating some fashion of the day for you all 🙂

Sorry that it has been awhile. We have been working a lot outside of school with hair and make up and it has consumed us! Oh, and we’ve been playing in the lovely weather . Yoga outside is the best idea , EVER! Alone one on one time with God , meditating in his beautiful creation!

Here we have a couple of fun, spring, bohemian chic looks!

I bought my daisy pants outfit from wetseal!

Taylors paisley top is from Tj Maxx, leggings are from forever 21

and both pairs of shoes are from payless i do believe!

Interested in Taylors Lennon inspired glasses? EBAY!

I think that the boho/ hippie look is definitely very IN this year and this excites me SO much because it is what I have been getting in touch with my inner hippie self, so I am very pleased! not to mention, the hippie / boho style is all about COMFORT, and what is better than that? Especially when it starts to warm up, the outfits are breathable ! Hope you enjoy todays looks 🙂
