cateye

Taylor doing the lovely “Brooke Shields” lookalike! I waved her hair out with a wand, and then basically brushed through and pulled apart the curls, and Taylor went for a dramatic smokey/cat eye and filled in her brows. Her lips were such a perfect shape, we added a bit of lip liner to make them even fuller, and bam! She was such a natural beauty!

How to: cateye!

Above is a simple step by step chart to help some of you out there that are struggling with achieving the perfect cateye! All eye shapes are different but I have found that by starting at the end of your eye at the crease , it ensures that the liner will be even on both sides and that is where people tend to struggle the most! Taylor and I will be posting a video on this in the future to give you a better idea and share more tips with you if you still have a hard time with achieving it! We definitely have lots of tips! Instead of spending 20 minutes perfecting it, with practice and knowing where to start, it now only takes us one swipe on both sides and then we are done! I also highly recommend liquid liner, with a precise point. It’s going to allow it to go on a lot easier and in the shape that you want without really having to create it! Everyone’s preference is different I just found it to be more effective for me !

Makeup!

Image

Before church services this Sunday Taylor went for more of a simple look. She shaped and filled her brows, and went for a dramatic cat eye to create a cute yet simplistic look. I filled and shaped my brows, did a cat eye, and added merlot lipstick by Mary Kay. It is one of my favorite lip colors! When I feel that I don’t do my makeup well, I always trust in my cat eye glasses to shield it, yet still make it somewhat cute! When in doubt, grab the cute glasses!!

This picture allows you to see more of how I do my cat eye, and how I shaped my eyebrows. As you can see, merlot definitely is my go to shade!

Smokey eye tutorial!

To start I am using :

Step 1:

Use any of the three light colors

Step 2:

pat color on eyelid and brow bone

Image

Step #3

use the two light brown colors I’m pointing to on the palette. Using an angle eye shadow brush, apply on the crease of your eyelid.

Step #4

apply darker brown to the outer crease of your eyelid.

Step # 5

apply black liquid eyeliner & add a cat eye to give it a more dramatic look! Isn’t that what a smokey eye is all about anyways? (;

You can never go wrong with false lashes!

How To: Pin Curls!

What you’ll need!

Image

Step #1

Curl your hair, either with a regular curling iron or a wand. I prefer a wand, only because I believe that the curl holds a lot longer without product. OH and don’t forget heat protectant. My sister and I like-

Image

Step #2

Image

Take your hair and roll under towards your scalp. This is why curling first is super important ! When you have straight hair without any type of wave at the bottom it is almost impossible to be able to have control on rolling it and it staying in place!

Step #3

Image

Pin the curl! These clips are the easiest way to hold it in place without leaving a crease!

Step #4

It is important to leave the clips in until the hair is completely cool all over. Generally a half an hour is the best amount of time to leave them in! Hairspray is optional depending on your hair type. I know some of you ladies have that poker straight hair and it’s impossible to hold curl!

Step #5

Image

Take out the pins, and brush out! You want to be careful with this. If you have finer hair/straight hair , simply separate with your fingers and fluff or tease a bit . I know that sometimes brushing can take the curl right out, and when pin curling, it’s all about the volume! If your hair tends to hold well, the brushing effect is very beautiful, and gives a very beautiful,  Rita Hayworth look!

All about the Brows!

In my opinion, well defined brows can completely change the look of your face!

Rules to the perfect brows

1. Define your arches!

I love eyebrows with an arch! I don’t naturally have them but they are easily achieved! Below I will post how I achieve mine and the product used!

2. Your eyebrows should end where your brow bone does!

3.  Shade them in!

– but be sure to find the right shade! A lot of times girls go wrong and shade with a color way too dark. Remember: Less is more.

4. For you OVER tweezers- STOP! If you must pluck, it is recommended that you only do so ONCE every three weeks! Let that natural shape come out! Well defined, thick brows are IN!

I always do the outlining of my eyebrows first and create my arch. Once I have done that I just shade them in !

The outcome:

browsThe best part about learning how to do this, is that I can achieve many different looks and play up any style I choose because every brow shape gives you a different look! So just have fun with it ladies! There are several tutorials online showing how to do this. If you would be interested in my sister and I making one, please leave comments below(:
